Ad plays

An ad play in DOOH refers to a single instance of an advertisement being displayed on a specific digital screen.

It is NOT an impression.

Each time an ad appears during the screen's content rotation counts as one ad play. It measures how frequently an ad is broadcast on each individual screen rather than tracking views by specific users.

To accurately track DOOH impressions, each ad play is multiplied by an impression multiplier, which varies throughout the day for individual screens and also differs from screen to screen.

Different from Ad views

  • Ad Play (DOOH): Refers to an ad being displayed on a digital screen one time. It's about the number of times the ad physically appears on screens.

  • Ad View (Viewability): Specifically measures if the end user saw the ad in real-time in a digital context.
