It facilitates interaction between video players and ad units, enabling rich, interactive in-stream ad experiences.

VPAID has undergone two major versions:

VPAID 1.0: Introduced in 2009, this version primarily supported Flash-based ads on desktop environments, allowing for basic interactivity and tracking capabilities.
VPAID 2.0: Released in 2012, this update expanded support to include HTML5 and JavaScript, enhancing compatibility across mobile devices and improving ad rendering capabilities.

It's important to note that VPAID has been deprecated and is being replaced by newer standards like the Open Measurement Interface Definition (OMID) and the Secure Interactive Media Interface Definition (SIMID), which offer improved functionalities and address limitations of VPAID.
