How to use Nielsen mDAR in mediasmart

Nielsen mDAR is a script from which a URL like this one should be extracted:

https://secure-gl.imrworldwide.com/cgi-bin/m?ca=nlsnXXXXXX&cr=crtve&ce=mediasmart&pc=XXXXXX&ci=nlsnciXXXX&am=3&at=view&rt=banner&st=image&r=[timestamp]

That pixel should be adapted by replacing &r=[timestamp] for:

&cy=0&c9=devid,%udid%&c13=asid,P56A7ADF8-4E93-488B-B008-1817F95A3D95&uoo=%dnt%&c7=%nlsn_osg%&c8=%nlsn_device_type%&c10=%nlsn_platform%&r=%ts%

If the country targeted is under GDPR, then the following has to be added as well before &r=%ts%:

&gdpr=1&gdpr_consent=%consent%

Pixel - Final look

So, the final pixel to use in mediasmart as an impression pixel (at campaign, creative campaign, or creative levels) will look like this:

  • Non-GDPR zone:

https://secure-gl.imrworldwide.com/cgi-bin/m?ca=nlsnXXXXXX&cr=crtve&ce=mediasmart&pc=XXXXXX&ci=nlsnciXXXX&am=3&at=view&rt=banner&st=image&cy=0&c9=devid,%udid%&c13=asid,P56A7ADF8-4E93-488B-B008-1817F95A3D95&uoo=%dnt%&c7=%nlsn_osg%&c8=%nlsn_device_type%&c10=%nlsn_platform%&r=%ts%

  • GDPR zone:

https://secure-gl.imrworldwide.com/cgi-bin/m?ca=nlsnXXXXXX&cr=crtve&ce=mediasmart&pc=XXXXXX&ci=nlsnciXXXX&am=3&at=view&rt=banner&st=image&cy=0&c9=devid,%udid%&c13=asid,P56A7ADF8-4E93-488B-B008-1817F95A3D95&uoo=%dnt%&c7=%nlsn_osg%&c8=%nlsn_device_type%&c10=%nlsn_platform%&gdpr=1&gdpr_consent=%consent%&r=%ts%

Technical note

mediasmart has implemented a specific feature for Nielsen mDAR pixels to call them server-side. This means that there’ll be extremely low discrepancies between the impressions of mediasmart and the impressions of Nielsen mDAR.

This feature is activated by default for Nielsen mDAR. It doesn’t need any manual activation from buyers.
