Why is my domain blocked?

One of the main reasons a creative can be rejected is when a Malicious domain is identified.

If a domain in your creative/campaign has been blocked, it is because we have received an alert from one of our ad quality tools (TMT or Geoedge) stating that: A domain has been identified in the ad call that has been flagged as a malicious domain (rotating) or linked to malware.

These tools are used by most of our SSP partners and are necessary to avoid violations coming directly from the SSP.

Additional reasons

A domain will always be blocked because of previously detected violations, but there can be several reasons for generating violations, therefore several reasons why a domain can be blacklisted:

  • Malware detected: auto redirects, phishing attempts, fake surveys, etc.

  • Auto-redirects related to smart redirections: If you are using smart redirection when the scan is performed in a different geo/OS/language/city/ISP/etc from the campaign this might trigger an auto-redirect. Although in general, SSPs can match the Geos and targeting features of the campaign in their scans too, they might consider this behaviour a violation**. Please stop this behavior to get your domain re-evaluated by TMT.

  • Invasive behavior: domains searching for specific user agents, devices, and other information. If you could provide to TMT the reasoning behind that type of coding, that will help TMT to re-evaluate our domain.
