Overview

In geolocated campaigns, mediasmart offers the possibility of sending the user to a location, opening the map application of the user's device with this point when the user clicks on an ad. This can be pretty useful for campaigns segmented into a small or very specific group of areas.

If you are targeting your campaign to a geolist, and you want to map to open around the center of the POI where the user has been targeted, you can use the following as a click URL:

https://ads.mediasmart.es/landing/mappoint?point=%area_lat%,%area_lon%

The map will open on Google Maps or Apple Maps depending on what is installed on the phone (if none of them is, it will revert to the map on the web). The lat:lon is that of the center of the circle of the geolist where the user has been targeted. Of course, if you want the map to always open in the same location, you can have the Latitude and Longitude have static values.

Operating systems

Before you create the Click URL and place them in the creatives, you will have to take into account if you are using Google maps or Apple maps:

  1. For Google Maps (it will work on both Operating Systems, but Google Maps is not preinstalled in iOS):
